Project Lead The Way (PLTW)
We recently just finished up our first module in PLTW. The focus was on Stability and Motion:Forces and Interactions. During this unit, students explore different forces, magnetic interactions, simple and compound machines. After being given a design problem (task) groups worked collaboratively to design, build and test a compound machine that could be used to solve a real life problem.
DESIGN, CREATE, TEST
Task: Design a bridge using 50 gumdrops and 100 toothpicks. Then test over a 6 inch gap and see how many pennies your bridge can hold.
THE WINNERS! Their bridge held 265 pennies!
